sugar is back.

Sugar is back on food labels, this time as a selling point, New York Times

  1. That's actually great to see! It's really hard to find items without corn syrup!

  2. I avoid corn syrup too - even if, in theory, we metabolize it the same as 'sugar' - it seems a little sketch to me. In five, ten, fifty years science will find that's not true. It can be hard to avoid in processed products, so I'm glad to start seeing cane and beet sugars making a resurgence on labels.

(Esp. when is 'tonic' going to be corn syrup free? How am I supposed to enjoy a G&T if I avoid corn syrup and artificial sweeteners? Because avoiding G&T's is just not an option.
