Happy May Day!

As a child, we would rise early on May 1st to deliver our may baskets and then hide so no one caught us. We used those green plastic baskets berries used to come in and wove paper and ribbons through the sides and filled with candy. It was a beloved holiday and I am sad that it isn't commonplace. On our street it was de rigueur and continued throughout the day with making new things to deliver via the ring and run. HAPPY MAY DAY!!!

spring break

I've been a little absent because I am studying for an exam and have had a couple of guests. Expect to see me on Wednesday! (I got these daffodils at the market.) [And that's no April Fool's.]

I have these little bouquets scattered throughout my apartment. One in the kitchen, bathroom, bedside, and table. Sweet and cheery!

sweet carnations

I picked up these sweet carnations when I was picking up my weekly groceries. They are a vase full of cheer and smiles in my living room.

Blooming

I was disappointed last May when my christmas cactus didn't bloom... it normally blooms twice a year (May & November). I was blessed with gobs of blooms before christmas. I deadheaded the remaining blooms and when I returned in January, it was blooming again. I love these bright fuchsia blooms at my bedside.
